While quietly revelling in culinary splendour, casually observing the passers-by, one could be forgiven for imagining a chance encounter with Descartes, Emerson or Rousseau. We had supper at Hussar Gril last week. Like always, it was an awesome experience. The staff were friendly, the place was packed and the ambience fantastic. We all had their famous Steak Tartare as a starter one of the few places that serve thatand the meat was trading house bar and grill menu, and all the trimmings and spices excellent to complement the raw meat.
The steaks for mains were really tender and tasty. The chips were crisp. And a real plus is that they charge no corkage. It is one of our favourite places. The staff is always so friendly and very efficient. Entering the restaurant you feel immediately very welcome. The food is always of the trading house bar and grill menu standard, excellent!!! We trading house bar and grill menu visit this restaurant with family and friends and have become "part of the family".
Management and staff are extremely friendly and efficient and the food is always of a very high standard.
We have introduced a large number of people, both local and from overseas, to this restaurant and have always received most favourable comments. While the wine list is good, there is no corkage charge should one wish to BYO. A very reasonable light lunch menu is available. Seldom will you find a fine dining experience with a 50 year heritage.
The original Hussar Grill in Rondebosch opened in and I have dined there since I never thought that its "offspring" would be able to match its excellence, but I was pleasantly surprised at lunch on 25 September.
Although I did not take my own wine, a big plus is that Hussar never charges corkage, so this should add to the appeal.
